Explore one of Spain’s most celebrated wine regions on this immersive Rioja day tour, where tradition meets innovation. Over the course of the day, you’ll visit three contrasting wineries, ranging from historic, family-run bodegas with underground caves to cutting-edge estates known for bold, modern wines.
You’ll enjoy guided tastings at each winery, featuring a variety of styles from elegant Rioja Reservas to fresh, terroir-driven single-vineyard expressions made from Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano, and Viura. Along the way, learn about ageing classifications, Rioja’s sub-zones (Alta, Alavesa, Oriental), and the evolution of winemaking in the region.
Midday, we pause for something to eat in one of the local villages where we'll indulge in a handful of pintxos and enjoy the bars like a local (pintxos included in tour price).
This experience is ideal for wine lovers and those new to wine who are seeking depth, storytelling, and a sense of place, led by a certified Spanish Wine Scholar or sommelier.

How many wineries will we visit, and what makes them different?
We’ll visit three hand-picked wineries, each with its own character — from historic family-run bodegas to modern, innovative estates — giving you a layered understanding of Rioja’s winemaking traditions and evolution.
How many wines will we taste?
You’ll taste at least nine wines during the tour, spanning different styles: Reserva, Crianza, and possibly single-vineyard or terroir-led expressions.
Is lunch or food included?
Yes — we include a pintxos-style lunch in a local village or winery. It’s a relaxed, authentic way to eat and taste with a local feel.
Where is the pickup, and how does the day run?
We pick you up from your hotel or accommodation in Rioja (or nearby, depending on your stay). The tour is full-day, with time for winery visits, tastings, and lunch.
What should I wear / bring?
Comfortable walking shoes are recommended — some winery cellars are uneven or have steps. Bring a light layer: some winery cellars can be cool, especially in underground bodegas.
