RIBERA DEL DUERO WINE & LUNCH TOUR
12 HOURS | SMALL GROUP | HOTEL PICKUP | TRADITIONAL LUNCH | FROM €325 PP
This is Ribera del Duero done properly: three winery visits, three different perspectives, and a day designed to help you really understand Spain’s famous inland red wine region.
Rather than running the same fixed circuit every time, we select three wineries based on availability and traveller preference, choosing from small artisanal producers through to medium-sized, family-run winery projects - the kinds of places where the wines still feel personal, and the people behind them are genuinely involved in the winemaking.
Across the day you’ll taste a wide range of Tempranillo-based wines, from vibrant young reds to structured Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva styles. We’ll also aim to include one of Ribera’s most overlooked surprises: aged white wine (Albillo Mayor), including Crianza and - when possible - Gran Reserva. Ribera white has only been officially permitted since 2019, so these aged examples are still relatively rare.
After the first two visits, we stop for a proper Castilian lunch: wood-fired suckling lamb (lechazo), slow roasted in a traditional oven. If you’d prefer something else, we can arrange alternative dishes with advance notice.
The tour includes transport to and from Madrid with hotel pickup and drop-off, and stays intimate with a maximum of 8 guests (from no more than two separate groups) to keep the experience relaxed, personal, and un-rushed.

Do we really visit three different wineries?

How many wines will we taste?
You’ll taste at least nine wines, mostly made from Tempranillo (locally called Tinto Fino). Expect a mix of young, crianza, reserva, and limited-production wines depending on the day.

Pickup is from your hotel or accommodation in Madrid. We’ll contact you ahead of time to confirm the exact time and location.
How long is the tour?
The tour lasts around 11 hours, depending on traffic and winery timings.
